Ambulance Services: Bridging the Gap
The shortage of emergency care services in Uganda results in a large burden of preventable deaths and disabilities. While efforts have been made in the last decade to establish emergency care facilities, training programs and ambulance services, most of these resources are concentrated in urban areas. As a result, much of rural East Africa still lacks access to emergency care due to a shortage of trained healthcare practitioners.
GTC Africa aims to improve access to life-saving emergency care for all Ugandans by deploying healthcare professionals and services.
Our strategies include the following
Build - Build the capacity of the healthcare institutions to provide specific training on the management of medical emergencies
Train - Teach critical emergency diagnostics and procedural skills and knowledge, along with leadership skills to emergency care providers.
Buy - Ambulances with advanced equipment and facilities to provide healthcare services on wheels.
